GERDBot™ Online Assessment

GERD-campaign photo_smallDo you avoid a favorite food because of how it makes you feel or take antacids for heartburn? You’re not alone. More than 60 million people in the U.S. get heartburn at least once a month. Heartburn, or acid reflux, is discomfort in your chest from rising stomach acid. It is a common symptom of gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD. Occasional GERD symptoms are not cause for alarm. But if you are experiencing these symptoms on a daily basis and they are left untreated, GERD can lead to more serious problems such as Barrett’s esophagus or even esophageal cancer.

Find Out If You Have GERD

Perhaps your doctor sent you to this resource to discover more about your symptoms and get you on the path to care. Maybe online research about your symptoms has brought you here.

You have come to the right place to get connected with the care you need to start feeling better. Northwestern Medicine has created an easier path to get the care you need for your GERD symptoms. Our GERDBot walks you through a series of questions designed to determine whether the symptoms you are experiencing are truly GERD. If your answers to the GERDBot questions determine that you likely have GERD, an advanced practice provider (APP) from Northwestern Medicine Gastroenterology will contact you within 72 hours to set up an appointment.
